Woody Guthrie Concert Celebration!
"Pastures of Plenty" & "Roll On, Columbia" are just two of the famous folk songs composed by Woody Guthrie during the most creative month of his life. Living in Portland, OR and working for the Bonneville Power Administration, Guthrie churned out a batch of songs that have helped define the Pacific Northwest in the modern day.
Musician Caitlin Belem Romtvedt & author Greg Vandy will join Ben Hunter & Joe Seamons for a concert that explores the legacy of Woody Guthrie's Columbia River Songs! Learn about Guthrie's trips through the Pacific Northwest, and hear new arrangements of many of the classic songs he wrote along the Columbia River!

We will also feature performances by our Rhapsody Project music students playing and singing Woody's songs as well as a few of the Leadbelly songs that influenced Guthrie's adaptations!

Greg Vandy is the author of the new book "26 Songs in 30 Days" - the first ever to tell the story of Woody's work for the Bonneville Power Administration in depth! Check it out:

The venue for the show is the Rainier Arts Center, formerly the Rainier Valley Cultural Center:
